A studio with trained teachers is a great place to start or continue your practice, but it certainly isn’t the only option. Check out the following yoga resources and be sure to leave your experiences in the comments. has videos and guides you can download for free or a small price. It is easy to use and has a great selection.

– Yoga DVDs. There are tons out there but the Happy Hips Yoga DVD from lululemon is my favorite so far.

– Local studios range from $5 to $20 in my area. Do some research- some studios will have a pay-what-you-can class or beginner’s discounted package. Also, try more than one studio to find one you love.

– Some community centers will offer yoga classes for free or a small fee.

– Lead your own practice! I appreciate a formal class to help me with my form and new poses, but I love a good self-led session. Search poses here to add to your own session.

Youtube it for free yoga videos!

– Practice in a park with a yogi friend.
